Legislative Change Toolkit

The Legislative Process is Yours to Shape!

Legislative change happens when people show up, speak up, and demand better.
Too often, the legislative process is made to feel confusing, inaccessible, or reserved for “experts.” At She Leads Justice, we believe advocacy should be accessible, not intimidating. You don’t need to be a policy expert or seasoned lobbyist to influence change.
Below, you’ll find our Legislative Change Toolkit designed to break down the legislative process, build practical advocacy skills, and support you in engaging lawmakers with confidence and clarity.

Legislative Change Toolkit

She Leads Justice’s Legislative Change Toolkit is designed to get you thinking about how to advocate and organize in your community this legislative session to get loud and ensure Connecticut women are one step closer to economic security.

Legislative Change Workshops

As Connecticut prepares for the 2026 legislative session, She Leads Justice is hosting a series of workshops designed to help advocates, community members, and everyday residents engage effectively in the legislative process.
These workshops are about building confidence, sharing knowledge, and making sure women’s voices, especially those most impacted by policy decisions, are heard loud and clear at the Capitol.
We will review and learn to navigate the Connecticut General Assembly website, discuss different ways to advocate, review the process of public hearings, discuss testimony writing and delivery, and explore priority issues that will be coming up for debate!
